Only the Fish

The fishes are swimmin’ down there,
In fresh and in salt water.
The fishes are always swimmin’.
They’re free and they can totter.
Their bodies are fascinating,
With parts that we do not have.
Breathing underwater,
They could not survive on land!
Only the fish, only the fish!
The fish have six fins
To help the fish swim.
Per-fect-al-ly!
Up on the shore we work all day.
Out in the sun we slave away.
While they’re devoting
Full time to floating
Only the fish!
Gyrating and hydrating,
All covered up in scales.
And without cutting them open,
You can’t tell apart the males.
Scientists study the fish,
In the field of ichthyology.
The oxygen comes from the shore,
From waves and from algae!
Only the fish, only the fish!
When we’re polluting,
They are concluding,
Take it from me!
Under the waves they live life full,
Their brains are protected by the skull.
They have no troubles, life is the bubbles.
Only the fish, only the fish!
Fish splitter splatter,
With the swim bladder.
Nat-ur-al-ly!
Regulating the pressure
To help the fish from predator.
Small fish are fleeting,
While sharks are eating
Bar-bar-ous-ly!
Phylum Chorda-ta
No invertebra-
ta. The fish are cool,
they swim in the pool.
They like to swim fast,
They like to swim slow,
And boy that blowfish blow.
They breathe though the mouth,
Which goes through the gills.
The oxygen flows,
Right down to their toes
Although they have none,
They have caudal fin.
Fueled by oxygen.
Only the fish, only the fish!
They are depleting,
We’re heating and eating.
Very sorry!
We must protect the little fish,
From sleeping on the serving dish.
We are mistreating and overeating
Preserve the fish!
Only the fish, only the fish!
The fish blood is cold,
Sometimes they are gold.
Ex-ter-nal-ly!
Oldest animals on the earth,
Some even have external birth.
‘Cause they cannot drown,
The fish can splash down.
Only the fish!
